Preparations are well underway for the 2016-17 pantomime, Cinderella, at the YMCA Theatre. Presented by YMCA Productions, this show runs from 26th December 2016 until 2nd January 2017.
“The YMCA pantomime is a big part of many local families’ Christmas traditions, and we love welcoming back many familiar faces to the theatre each year”, said director James Aconley. It’s not just for regular attendees though, he added: “Each year our audience builds and builds, and we’re so pleased that more and more people choose for the YMCA Theatre to be a part of their festive celebrations every year”.
This year, families of all ages can meet the lovely Cinderella, her two horrible stepsisters, the evil Baroness and the loveable Buttons – as well as a whole host of other characters and dancers, at the Theatre as they tell the much-loved fairytale with a few added twists and turns.
“Our pantomime this year is written by previous YMCA Member Claire Edwards”, said James. “We love to keep the panto local when we can, so it’s great to have Claire on board. It’s a great script and it’s been a lot of fun so far to work with in rehearsals”. Completing the creative trio is Julie Nockels from Rowlies Academy of Dance.
Cinderella runs at the YMCA Theatre from 26th December until 2nd January. Full performance schedule and further details, including our fantastic early bird discount, can be found on our Theatre Shows page.
